SENIOR R&D SCIENTIST

 

Quotient is recruiting for a Senior R&D Scientist to join the Autoimmune and Allergy Assay Development Team. The role is a full-time, permanent position, based in Eysins, Switzerland. 

 

JOB PURPOSE

 

The primary function of this role entails leading, coordinating, supervising and undertaking Design and Development projects in the R&D department. This will include recording, analysing and reaching valid conclusions for complex investigations in consultation with the Group Leader, Team Leader or the Principal Scientist, enabling the completion of projects to the agreed timelines and the highest possible standards.

 


JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The main responsibilities will include:
•    Leading development studies and subsequently coordinating and undertaking work relating to specific Development projects. 
•    Analysing and interpreting complex data produced in studies and writing end of phase reports summarizing all development work performed.
•    Participating in commissioning and validation of new equipment. 
•    Preparing and reviewing formal documentation (e.g., SOPs) in consultation with the Team Leader / Principal Scientist.
•    Ensure full Product Lifecycle documentation is maintained.
•    Leading project teams for interdisciplinary / interdepartmental / collaborative projects to ensure projects progress efficiently and effectively. 
•    Actively maintaining an awareness of scientific and technical literature to ensure the development of innovative projects and products.
 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

•    Holder of a BSc degree in Biology or Biochemistry, or equivalent degree
•    3-5 years of experience in IVD environment (immunoassay development and optimisation)
•    Experience of method development and working in a regulated environment
•    A detailed knowledge of Design Control requirements and application
•    Strong data analysis capability and experience of using analytical methods.
•    Coordinating and managing projects / products to successful completion
•    Recording and reporting on experimental outcomes
•    Writing and delivering presentations
•    Fluent in English, French is an asset
