R&D Team Leader, New product research


Quotient is recruiting for a Team Leader to join the New Product Research team in our Research & Development team based in our site in Eysins.

This role is a full-time and permanent position.

This role entails being responsible for delivery of products through proof of concept and feasibility stages, coordination & management of the Project Team and staff members for specific product lines (e.g., multiplex serological tests, multi-modal UAT etc.) in the New Product Research (NPR) Department.



The main responsibilities will include:

  • Be responsible for the delivery of products through early development stages, coordination & management of the Project Team and staff members
  • Provide detailed weekly reporting on status and progress of the projects to Head of NPR
  • Responsible for the delivery of projects within timelines and within budgets specified by Head of NPR
  • Connect with other staff members within the organisation to ensure appropriate allocation of resources, including staff, instrumentation, and consumables to enable coordinated Operational activities
  • Manage and coach the staff members (Project leaders, R&D Scientists, and Technicians)
  • Take in charge of key processes and inputs of Product Development (e.g., DIRDs) and transition of those key aspects to Biological Materials, Systems Integration, Verification and Validation Depts etc.
  • Responsible for direct support of the Quality team in preparing Regulatory Submissions for products
  • Build and maintain strong functional relationships across Departments (e.g., QA/QC, Regulatory, Systems Integration)
  • Conduct all duties in compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and appropriate regulatory requirements.  



  • PhD in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in the IVD industry
  • Significative experience in the same role, or equivalent
  • Experience and proven track record of people management and leadership in a relevant environment
  • Experience of succinctly conveying complex technical information to a range of stakeholders
  • Strong experience of Immunoassay and Reagents development, including IVD and Quality Control assays
  • Solid communication and leadership skills
  • Fluent in French & English
