DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

 

The Program Management Offices (PMO) at the two sites in Scotland, UK and Switzerland and their Department leaders report into the Chief Technology Officer of the company. The PMO and its staff lead and provide project management support for the company’s most strategic initiatives across the Alba Immunohematology and MosaiQ technology and clinical innovation businesses. The PMO in Eysins, Switzerland is focused on driving the MosaiQ assay development, system development and commercialization roadmap.

 

 

JOB PURPOSE:

 

The Department Leader, PMO, Switzerland and Program Manager has responsibility for leading the department with 1 to 5 direct reports/project managers, and for managing 1-2 key programs for the company including leadership for program core teams that include Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Operations, Supply Chain, Business Development, Assay R&D, Systems R&D and other functions.

 

 

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

 

  • Directly leads a team of project managers (1-5 colleagues) and ensure performance management in line with corporate objectives and people development.
  • Manage the planning and execution of new product development or other strategic programs.
  • Organise and chair program level meetings to ensure alignment across streams.
  • Organise and chair Executive steering committee meetings to ensure alignment with Executive Management.
  • Effectively manage external partners & consultants where necessary.
  • Work with the Executive Management and Governance teams to deliver the assigned program & portfolio objectives according to the agreed strategy.
  • Ensure effective communication of goals and timelines with key stakeholders & steering committee.
  • Monitor project & program progress and provide formal reports to senior management as required.
  • Assess, manage and monitor program & portfolio challenges, risks and issues and engage senior leadership on resolution.
  • Enable rapid and effective escalation of risks and issues at project level are brought forward and facilitate decision making and resolution.
  • Liaise and communicate with all key stakeholders internal & external on program and portfolio activities.
  • Support the evolution and the constant search for excellence in PMO methodologies and competencies in line with operational & strategic objectives.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably requested from the Company from time to time.
  • Conduct all duties in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Documentation Practive (GDP) and appropriate quality system requirements.
